Balochistan Wildlife Department recovers five rare wolf pups

QUETTA: The Balochistan Forest and Wildlife Department has recovered five wolf pups in an operation conducted in the Kakar Khorasan area of Zhob, said Chief Conservator of Wildlife Sharifuddin Baloch on Friday.

Levies and police personnel also took part in the operation, said the chief conservator.

Sharifuddin stated that the rescued wolf species is known as the “grey wolf”. He said the population of grey wolves found in Balochistan is facing the threat of extinction.

“The grey wolf is a rare species and its population is low in the province,” he noted.

The wildlife official further stated that after proper care and rehabilitation, the rescued wolf pups would be released back into their natural habitat.
